The cool thing about working with Dream That Big Publishing is that we specialize in big picture thinking. A part of our process includes brainstorming your authorpreneur ideas or potential, and creating a custom strategy roadmap to achieve your goals!
Depending on the genre, purpose, and goal of your book will determine the page or word count.
The average non-fiction book has between 40,000 - 45,000 word count and 120 or more pages. Note, this is all dependent on book size.
The average children’s book is between 750-1000 word count and up to 25-30 pages. Note, this is all dependent on book size.
The publishing process is incredibly unique. It encompasses planning, writing, editing, designing and branding, formatting, marketing, and bringing your book to market. While the average book from start to finish takes between 3-6 months, this can vary from author to author or book to book.
We walk each author through an intensive process to identify their publishing goals and from this strategy meeting, we then create a comprehensive blueprint for an estimated timeline, specific to the author’s goals and vision.
Our specialty is non-fiction and children’s books.
Dream That Big Publishing’s team of talented professionals has successfully assisted authors with publishing memoirs, inspirational, motivational, leadership, entrepreneurial, sucess principles, as well as self-help non-fiction books. Additionally, we successfully publish family, based on true stories, educational and inspirational children books.
While we value the joy that a good ol’ fiction book can bring to the reader, it is not within our professional wheelhouse to assist with authors’ fiction books.
Publishing your book is an investment. The price of your publishing package is determined based on your starting point, the level of service needed, and your goals.
Our average author pays between $3000 – $4500 to become published. Your investment includes all that you will need to successfully accomplish your author goals!

ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number and is a 13-digit number that identifies published books. It is important to note that once an ISBN is assigned to a book, an ISBN can never be reused.
ISBNs are assigned by publishers.
An ISBN identifies the registrant (author), title, edition (if applicable), and format of products used by publishers, bookstores, libraries, etc.
ISBNs are important for ordering, sales reporting, and inventory control.
An ISBN increases the chances that your book will be found for purchase. Most bookstores will not feature or sell any book that is not first listed within their warehouse database. To get there, your book must have a unique ISBN. Dream That Big Publishing will ensure that you get an ISBN for your book!
According to the Official Copyright Office:
Copyright is a law. In the United States, the law is embodied in the Copyright Act of 1976, Title 17 of the U.S. Code. Copyright law grants authors and creators of their works exclusive rights for using those works for a limited period of time. These protective rights encourage creators to continue to create and author new works.
The law gives the creator the exclusive rights to:
- Reproduce or copy the work
- Make other derivative works based on the original
- Distribute the works by giving, lending, or selling it
- Perform and display the work publicly if it is literary, dramatic, musical, or choreographed, a movie or other audio-visual type
- For sound recordings, exclusively perform the work publicly via digital transmission.
The revenue generated from book sales is called royalty payments. During the distribution process, we help you set up your royalty accounts as well as understand the payout terms, per each channel.
As for questions on bank accounts, and taxes we refer you to your accountant for tax-related questions and your client service manager can work with you to ensure that your brand is set up correctly as it pertains to your goals.
